Nominator's project description
| Professor Pich Zardoya belongs to the important figures in Europe in the field of Quantum Field Theory and Particle Physics Phenomenology. Investigating the dynamics of the electroweak and strong forces among the basic constituents of nature in the last twenty years, Professor Pich provided us with important insights into the physics at very short distance scales. His research, done in close contact with the main international laboratories where the relevant experimental data are obtained, has allowed performing relevant tests of the "Standard Model" of the fundamental interactions and high-precision determinations of its parameters. During his stay in Germany Professor Pich Zardoya intends to elaborate new effective field theories for the description of the strong interactions and of the physics beyond the Standard Model of Particle Physics. The research will be conducted in close collaboration with experiments at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN and at flavour factories. |
